Whew!

I don't think I got any more sleep at night than Brandon did but I didn't have the luxury of an afternoon nap.  I think I slept all weekend.  Now I know who/what my character is so I'm jazzed about writing the rest of the story (no Paul Harvey intended).  Question:  Do Grimm's fairy tales count as high fantasy or low fantasy?

...they count as grim fantasy? ;)

I would say that they're at least not High Fantasy, but I don't know what... other kinds of fantasy there really are. Maybe Fairy tales are something totally different. A class all their own.

Hurray on still writing, though! Keep it up!

And I, also, slept all weekend. :)

I think high fantasy usually refers to Tolkienesque, or even something more like Beagle's Last Unicorn.

Fairy tales are a sub-genre unto themselves.

I like to call it "folklore-based fantasy" when you go off fairy tale motifs.
