Query Letters

I came across this site for writing query letters that I thought was very useful. Not that we want to follow a formula, but . . .

Great! I used that web site extensively last year to find agents to submit "Corridor" to. No takers - I don't blame them. If I were an agent, I wouldn't take it either.

It was only my first go.

If anyone wants query letters critiqued, we can do that here!

Anyone out there know where I can get samples of a synopsis?

I think a synopsis is the most intimidating thing for me to approach as a writer :P

The links to sample query letters at the bottom of this page all have synopses in them. I'll let you know if I come across any others.

We could definitely do synopsis readings on this blog!

Synopses scare me, too. I just spent two days writing a synopsis for Countdown for the Countess and I'm hoping it will be OK. It ended up being about 6 pages because it was supposed to be somewhat detailed. The good news is that there is an agent willing to look at it--as in he asked for it after getting a query letter from me. Here's hoping--crossed fingers, knock on wood, etc.
