I finished the third draft of Earthcrosser on Friday morning. Nothing left to do now but a little proof-reading. Today I took down all my reference maps and research materials and put them away. It surprised me how sad I felt, almost like packing up to move out of an apartment where I enjoyed living.
On Tuesday, Brandon Sanderson is doing a book signing here in Las Vegas! I get to go and tell him I'm almost ready to go to the post office.
Agh! Argh! Eeek! Now I get to find out if the editor wants it! Urp! Igh! Gasp! For the next three months, every time I go to the mail box I will be on the verge of a heart attack.

Eeeee!!! Congratulations. You can do it! :) I am so very pleased to hear how far along you are - that is very encouraging and inspiring.
Good luck!
WOW!!!!!! That is amazing! Congratulations. I have no doubt that your book will be published and do well. Probably because I will buy fifty copies of it and hand them out to my friends saying "I know her!!! We're like, bosom buddies!" And when you're on the new york bestseller list, I will drive all the way to Las Vegas and give you a big hug. I'll probably also ask for money, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. You inspire me! Thanks
Thanks for the encouragement! If I do get on the best-sellers list I promise I will write very nice cover quotes for all of your books!
Congratulations!
That's quite an achievement!
:)
I can see why you needed a break--3 drafts!! I take forever on each draft! But I'm getting....there....slowly.....!
Wonderful news, Rebecca! You should be commended for your valiant efforts. Three revisions since June? I'm very impressed. Hopefully, you are still in contact with that editor (who's name escapes me) that was interested in your ms. I can't wait to hear the results. Keep us posted.

Thanks, Doug! After reading your comment I e-mailed the editor just to let her know I hadn't dropped off the face of the earth. She actually remembered me and said she would be watching for my submission.
She'll just have to wait a few more weeks while I pump out draft 4!
