I'm just grateful that it will take her 2-3 months to get back to me. I need the time to create an emotional distance. By the time I hear, I should be half way through my next book, and so rejection will prompt a few bitter tears but not complete desolation.
What rejection? Think positively, even if the economy is going south. If the editor really likes your book, it'll sell. I liked it. So there. Positive vibes. Positive vibes.
Hi, folks. Sorry I haven't been around much. Teaching 5 classes and trying to finish my academic text book. The draft is due next week. Argh! I can't tell you how much I'd rather be writing fiction. By the way, my first novel is now being bound. I just got the catalog from Houghton Mifflin for their spring list and my book is in it. Wahoo! It's supposed to come out in June. That's a bit late, but maybe people will be buying by then.
