While I was waiting to hear back on the rewrite of Earthcrosser, I drafted an entire new novel, 67,000 words long.
They told me publishing moves slow.
At the workshop I had a few words with Martha. She said I could call her if it got to be too long before I heard from her. At the time I thought - no way am I ever calling a real editor from New York on the telephone! I'm way too chicken! Three months later. . . it's getting tempting.

Having met and talked to Martha on at least two occasions, I think she is one incredibly nice editor and probably means it when she said you could call. I'd give her another month, though. You're lucky to have her as an editor.
I sure am! She e-mailed me a few days after I put up this post and said I could do another rewrite. It's unheard of! Do any other editors let people do second re-writes?
No wonder she's swamped with submissions.
Sometimes they do. My editor had me do three or four revisions on the Petronella book before we actually signed a contract and then we did three or four more before it was ready for publication. Good luck with the rewrite.
Really? Wow, that's great. I thought editors either bought the manuscript or they dumped you.
How is Petronella doing? When was the paperback coming out?
